With kick off pulled forward slightly, so we could make it back in time to watch the “B” match of the day (Italy v England). With team sheets adjusted due to sickness & holidays we got under way. A quick chat too, about how important it was to get straight into the game to set the pace, off we went. Scoring first, went down a storm with the fans on the line but Aylesford quickly replied. With the continued effort we scored again, but they came back again.
With the two teams closely matched it continued like this to the break. After replacing most of the squad we started again and blow me, we scored first again, this game carried on like two heavy weight boxers trading punches. Into the final session we went with a mix of players. With Aylesford being the hardest opponents we have played this season, we carried on and dug deep. However, with tensions rising and tempers short we played messy and at times, ugly, but we got the job done.
Great trys from Obi & Tareq and with Greg & Freddie GB kicking well in the windy conditions. I’d like to mention Ellis, Sidney & Harry A’s first game for us, some what of a tough one, but they all managed to get through it with flying colours. With so many great performances from all the guys, they are really making it hard to choose the starting team. There is one boy I’d like to talk about, after having to pull him to one side for his constant messing around, he went on to give one of his best performances I’ve seen him have. Well done Toby.
A great job done by everyone ‘But’ there’s a lot more to do.
